The Elements portfolios explore digital art as an expression of creation and evolution. By manipulating fluxes within the digital space, arrangements are given free rein to transform and evolve into new forms. The works that result are sometimes unusual and at other times hauntingly familiar, but ultimately are all expressions of the subconscious spirit that is the foundation of our reality.
The creation of the elements represents creation by first principles. Before each element is created within the digital space nothing exists apart from the potential energy of the digital fluxes contained. Then it is by the interaction of an external force that theses fluxes are seeded and coalesce into form. These forms are the result of iterative variations of multiple variables until a final form has been achieved.
Once form has been established then it is by further manipulation of these fluxes that the form is given movement and what proceeds is a transformation into further states with different meanings. It is by exploration of this evolution of form that we can explore the abstract qualities of our shared conscious experience.
Beyond transformation it is the aim to return these evolving forms to their original state, thus signifying the cyclical nature of the energy of our reality.
